Doberman Pinschers are loyal, energetic dogs with a muscular build that can be intimidating to some. Although these dogs have a reputation for being aggressive guard dogs, there is way more that meets the eye. Dobermans are incredibly intelligent dogs who crave strong leadership from their alpha. They are easily trainable as long as you use consistency and confidence in your instruction. Since Dobermans are so intelligent they need a lot of mental stimulation, they are not good dogs to have if you do not have an active lifestyle.

Dobermans may have a bad rep for being aggressive and temperamental but over the years many have bred these dogs to be loyal, family loving protectors rather than hostile guard dogs.
