As the temperature rises, it seems harder and harder to keep your dog cool and hydrated. Dogs’ bodies work quite differently than a human body and you need to take different precautions to make sure your furry friend is comfortable through these hot summer months! One sure-fire way to make sure your dog isn’t overheating is to set up a kiddie pool for them to splash around in. Here at Fetchers, we have a pool in each yard for pup pals to play in.

Dogs cool off from the bottom up so it is very beneficial for them to be able to dip their paws and their bellies in the cool water. Keep in mind that the color black absorbs more heat than other colors so keep an eye out for your darker colored breeds!

It’s important to make sure your dog stays hydrated as well. Some warning signs are excessive drooling, lethargy and bloodshot eyes. Make sure your dog has easy access to water as often as possible! We keep large buckets filled in every yard so that we ensure all pups never get dehydrated. We have to keep our eyes out though because some of the dogs like to keep cool by dunking their paws and heads in the drinking water! #sofetch
